Logging into Find My requires your Apple ID and password that was used to activate iCloud, which you should see when you go to Settings><your name>
Then you were using something wrong, or there was a typo in your entry. If you go to www.icloud.com on a browser, see if you can log in there.
What exactly is happening when you try? If you see an error, what is the exact text of the error?
