Music App Playlists
In 2011 iTunes had one of the most convenient ways of viewing playlists:
Playlists could be organised as a list with album artwork displayed alongside the list
In the 2012 iteration of iTunes that type of default display mode of playlists was removed, but there was still a possibility to retain such functionality by choosing the following options:
View -> As Songs
View -> Options -> Show Artwork -> Always Show (you could also adjust artwork size)
In the Music 1.0.0.426 app on Mac OS Catalina the default Playlist view mode is extremely restricted:
For some reason it redundantly displays the album artwork for each individual track. Looks completely counterintuitive and does not make any logical sense whatsoever
Also, the new default playlist mode does not present the functionality of displaying important information about tracks such as: Year, Bitrate and all of the other options that you might want to choose in the View As Songs mode
I am very disappointed at this interface architecture choice that Apple has decided on in the Music 1.0.0.426 version of the app and I sincerely hope that they will fix this issue in the next release
