Multi-Touch Repair Program for Iphone 6 plus

Hi all,

I recently sent my iphone6 plus to check the multi-touch design defect, and they offered the replacement device which it is great.

The sad part is the cost more than to purchase the re-furbished newer version of the iphone, is there anything Apple is going to do about it?

Thanks,

Did the Apple Authorised Service Provider get your authorisation to replace the phone, and inform you of the cost? If not, it is an unethical business practice that Apple is doing across countries, despite indirectly acknowledging the design defect in iPhone 6 Plus which causes the “Touch disease”

Suggest contacting Apple customer service regarding this unethical business practice.

1. Submitted a working iPhone 6 plus with Touch disease

2. Local authorized service center was not sure if it will be covered under Multi-Touch Repair Program for iPhone 6 plus, but they took it in showing approx. cost of INR 11,900 on Apple web-page.

3. After 5 days, got a call (single line email) from service center saying replacement phone has arrived - no mention of cost.

4. Next day went to pick it up, and was first told it will cost INR 29,xxx; then changed to INR 14,900; then changed to INR 13,900.

5. No cost estimate was shared nor option provided to me to approve replacement or repair.

Contacted Apple support (case id 100934526680 without any resolution).

Request to return of my old iPhone also not being entertained.

Dear,

Thanks for the feedbacks. However I'm in Malaysia and the cost should be in Malaysian Ringgit.

Also I sent my phone to the Apple authorized service center, infact the offer was to exchange the item was higher than than the cost to purchase a newer model of iphone ( ie 6S plus, refurbished condition).

I believe Apple is not willing anything to fix the design defect, and only trying to sell another product in stock.

Thanks,

Thanks for your feedback.

The cost of replacement is not worth it at all... And they replaced the phone without checking with me or informing me the cost, except for the amount on apple web page, but then asked for 25% extra!

Tried reasoning with them to return my old iPhone or give a discount voucher for purchasing a new iPhone, without any result.

Am exploring switching to the new Samsung S10 plus... It seems to be much better phone!
