How to edit audiobook metadata in Books?
After upgrading to Catalina and having all my audiobooks moved to the Books app, how can I edit the metadata of audiobooks that were not purchased in the Apple audiobook store?

I definitely need the answer to this too!
I have audiobooks for my kids that were recorded by their grandparents. I have the audio files and need to edit the metadata so we can sort and categorize them easily in Books. These files used to be in Music, but now they are all in Books.

Right click, get info, change/add whatever you wanted - used to be so easy! All kinds of different sort options became available. You can still can do it in music, movies, home videos - but not Books.
Stupid - fix it.
If you don’t want to go into Books to register a complaint, this link should work:

I will put off upgrading to Catalina as long as possible, due to this and other issues with audiobook management.
They took the ability away to change Metadata within books, my suggestion is within the books app Send feedback.
Within books drop down menu
Books - Provide feedback
And create a ticket with Apple support.
Unfortunately you can't edit the metadata like you could in iTunes.
Developers clearly made a terrible mistake when they failed to consider audiobooks when splitting iTunes into Music, Books, etc. Or they either deliberately dismissed audiobooks. I'm not sure which would be worse.
