"Start up automatically after a power failure" is not available in the latest version of the Mac OS - Catalina. I have used it in previous versions. Perhaps it has been moved somewhere else but where? See screen shot below.

Hi EDS_DES,

It appears the option is only available on desktop models now.

Use the Energy Saver settings on your Mac

"Start up automatically after a power failure

You can set your Mac desktop computer to automatically restart if its AC power connection becomes unavailable. For example, if there's a power outage, or you inadvertently disconnect the AC power cord, your Mac starts up again on its own once power is reconnected."

Take care.

Good afternoon EDS_DES,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you would like to adjust the preferences on your MacBook Pro to restart automatically after a power outage. To do this:

  1. Click the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Energy Saver
  2. Place a checkmark in front of "Start up automatically after a power failure"
  3. Close the Energy Saver window

macOS User Guide - Customize your Mac with System Preferences

Enjoy your day!
