Can't delete gmail messages in mail app

I was just unwillingly forced to update to iOS 13.1.2. Now I can't delete messages in may gmail account using the mail app. My only choice is archive.

How can I enable delete instead of archive?

If I can't, how can I go back to iOS 12?

Sometimes I really hate the way Apple does these forced "no way back" updates.

Hello zra0,

Thanks for that info and for choosing the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you are unable to delete emails in the Mail app on your iPhone. To change this, go to Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Gmail > tap on your account at the top > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox and then tap the Trash and test your issue again in the Mail app.

Cheers!
