How to remove "Searchmine" as homepage and default search engine on Safari.

I have three browsers on my Mac ( OS 10.13.6) - Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Through my own stupidity I downloaded Searchmine, and it infected Safari and Chrome but not Firefox. I was able to remove it from Chrome but can't get rid of it on Safari. I tried the suggestions I saw when I searched on Apple support, but none of them worked. I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

My iMac is late 2011 -- '2012 and later" was the only choice from the dropdown list.

I already have the latest version of Malwarebytes and it did not detect or remove Searchmine. I ran it multiple times. Any other thoughts? Thanks.

Thank you. I used some instructions from a Chrome support forum to remove it from Chrome. I then used a suggestion from the site(s) you recommended to remove it from Safari. (Firefox was never affected.) It's been two days now and so far both Chrome and Safari are OK.

Try downloading this program which was written by Thomas R, a long time poster. The program will search for malware/adware. The program will do the work for you which makes it easy. It may be necessary to run more than one scan. After running the scans, restart the computer.
