My MacBook Pro 2019 shuts down at 78% and does not open until I plug it into the charger.

that appears to be a known issue as Apple is apparently shipping devices with batteries shutting down at a relatively high percentage to protect them during shipment. Try an SMC reset and re-booting - and, if it is not resolved, contact Apple support.

I had a similar issue at 55%. Support had me do an NVRAM reset, which fixed the unexpected shutdown issue. Unfortunately, battery life is still really disappointing, at least in my case. Apple advertises 10 hrs of web browsing, I'm getting about 5. Would love to know if I am the only one or if the 2019 round of MacBook Pros are just inferior to previous models.
