Trying to Airdop mp3 to iPad - but it only goes to Onsong

I'm trying to airdrop an mp3 to my iPad - seemingly everything appears to connect and transfer - however the issue at hand is that the mp3 is passed to an app called OnSong (it's for music - typically you pass OnSong lyrics & chords in the form of text or a PDF). But, the topic of OnSong is beside the point - somewhat. Although OnSong intercepts the mp3 via AirDrop - isn't there a way to redirect the mp3 so it doesn't get sucked up and lost in OnSong?

FYI - I have no idea what OnSong did with the mp3 - so I still can't play the mp3 on my iPad.

Yeah, anyway, seems like there should be a better way - a choice - allowing me to choose where that mp3 ends op on my iPad

Hello silver_mica,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. From what I understand, AirDropped MP3's are being used by a different app than expected. I'll explain.

If you're trying to use the Music app to listen to the MP3, you would need to import it into iTunes or the Music app on a computer first then sync to the iPad: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

With any other app, you'll want to check with the developers of the app for any other steps to take or further troubleshooting: How to contact an app developer

Have a great day.
