iMac running Catalina. This fixed it for me. I first deleted the printer and the Canon utility. Then I downloaded the latest Catalina update and the latest Canon driver (make sure to download scan utility as well). Re-added printer and was able to scan.
I have downloaded Canon scan & printer drivers: mac-scan-v2152-00.dmg and mac-mf-v10113-00.dmg.
I keep getting this 'com.apple.imagecapture' error. please, help.
Catalina 10.15.4, MacBook Pro 2019.
I can't scan from my HP printer to my macbook pro. I get the following error message: The operation couldn’t be completed. (com.apple.imagecapture error 4294967249.) I had no difficulty in doing so last week. Now the printer does not recognize my macbook, although when I go into system preferences/printers/scanners, I am able to locate the HP printer and apparently connect from my mac. But the printer comes up with the above error message.
I have the same problem both on the new version pf Catalina and on my other Mac.
The printer is an HP laser pro M479fdw
The printing was normally working with my old Mac when suddenly for a new task it didn't work any more.
After having encountered this problem on the old Mac it was the same with new with the latest version of Catalina.
I spent some time with Apple support on this issue. I have a Canon printer.
What worked was installing the "optional" driver rather than the "recommended" driver. The optional driver is larger and includes scanner drivers. I had to delete the old drivers first, of course.
For my Cannon MF4770n, I went to Cannon's product support page (search it on Google) and downloaded the Optional (not the Recommended!) Driver, then install the new driver to my iMac and now it's working!! I didn't try it with the Recommended; it might work since it's a newly published (7/1/2020) driver, but I didn't want to take a chance since the last person said it didn't work so I downloaded the Optional instead. Apple's phone support was not helpful and it took forever to get someone on the phone to help. Hope this is helpful!
Hi guys, I do have the same problem with an HP MFW277. The interesting thing is, that this occurs only, when I connect via WiFi to the printer. (whether it is a MacBook (2016) or a MacBook Pro (2015). The printer is connected via LAN. As long i use the scanner from my wired iMAC it works.
I thought this could be something within the router but seems to be not.
I analysed the Network settings but was not able to find any difference between iMac and MacBook.
Perhaps this rings a bell to anybody of you.
I have the same question... Scanning is working on one iMac and not the Other .... Both are running Catalina....
Hi. I have IMac and iOS 10.15. But my canon scan is not working on it.
After I downloaded today’s update, and downloaded the new drivers that are not available for the scanner, I was able to get everything to work.
URL for drivers?
thanks - what's the URL for the new driver?
