Ipad freezes during sidecar-use

I can connect to the iPadPro for use as second screen using sidecar, that works great. But after a little time (sometimes less then 30 minutes) the iPad-screen freezes. All I can do then is restart the MacBookPro to reconnect. If I just break the connection and try to connect again, the screen of the iPad will turn black.

Any ideas?

What I have found to work is going to the menu bar and clicking on the icon sidecar/airplay icon, and then clicking on show/hide touch bar. It must refresh the connection or something because function resumes once the iPad's display comes back on/refreshes. It does not fix it from happening, but it does prevent having to restart your Mac.

I have the iPadPro connected to the MacBookPro using Sidecar. The first connection works good (after starting up both devices), but after a little time the screen of the iPad freezes.. If I disconnect the iPad and try to connect again, I get a black screen on the iPad. I can only solve it by restarting the MacBook. See the video...

I'm having the same issue with sidecar; within 30 minutes or so the screen on the iPad freezes. I've replicated the issue using two different iPads on the same MacBook Pro. Both iPads were the exact make and model using the latest version of iPadOS. Here's the equipment I am using:

MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2016, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports)

macOS Catalina 10.15.2 (19C57)

iPad Pro (12.9") (2nd Generation)

iPadOS 13.3 (17C54)

Has anyone had any luck with finding a permanent solution for this or identifying the issue?

Thanks.

I had this problem also. Disconnecting from the iPad and reconnecting doesn't seem to fix the issue once it occurs.

Also, connecting to the iPad as a hotspot doesn't work for a network connection because developer was lazy and just checks for wifi connection active on iPad. So you need a iPhone running hotspot to act as a switch which is a pain. My guess is that they didn't properly trap for error conditions and rushed this feature. It's great for the 30mins of use, and then just sucks.
