Time capsule

Why are time capsules not in the inventory, for sale anymore or has the backup mode changed for Catalina ? Cannot find in US store or in the one where I live. Thoughts? Seems like nothing but a pretties store anymore.....

Time to replace my Time Capsule. What are my best options? Loved the functionality of Time Capsule. All our Apple equipment backs up to it. iPad and iPhones are backed up to our Macs and those automatically back up to Time Capsule. Plus it is also a fantastic router. Unfortunately it is getting a bit long in the tooth and the hard drive is starting to make noise. I need a solution before it stops working. Options???

Our trusty Time Capsule won't back up to either of our new M1 MacBooks. Should we give up on trying to back up our M1 MacBooks to our Time Capsule? I spent an hour + yesterday with Apple Care support was transferred to a higher level technician. The problem was not solved. Has the Time Capsule product been discontinued? If so what kind or router will we need to replace the Time Capsule?

Airport Time Capsule I have a I tb Airport Time Capsule in my system. It is my backup disk and is being used as a distribution device for several ethernet connected devices around my home because I do not have enough plugs in my modem. It appears the disc is full and my backups have stopped. I was under the impression from my Time Machine information in Preferences that "the oldest backups are deleted when your disk becomes full" and that I could just use my current setup indefinitely accepting the fact that old stuff is deleted. I have checked this out and it appears my impression may be incorrect and I may need a new backup device. To further complicate things I am told that Apple have discontinued manufacture of the Airport Time Capsule. So my questions are: Do I need a new backup disk or should my current setup keep going deleting old stuff as it becomes full? If I need a new one what is a good replacement for the Airport Time Capsule that includes the distribution function or do I need to do that in a different way.

Apple discontinued the AirPort Time Capsule, AirPort Extreme and AirPort Express in April 2018.

That being said, you might be able to still find a refurbished or used Time Capsule on online sellers like Amazon and Ebay.

Thanks Bob, I received other confirmation from Mac a bit ago. I last bought one 6 years ago and with the new software, they don’t back up anything, like they used to. Will look for an aftermarket raid......
