how do i get iPhoto back using Catalina
The old iPhoto application will not run on Catalina.
You can migrate the iPhoto library to Photos.
If you took a backup of your system before you upgraded (always a prudent precaution), you can restore from that backup.

You are meant to do your research before upgrading, you should stand at the back of the class and have a good think about things. Apple stopped supporting iPhoto 4 years ago.

I try to open Photos in Catalina, having updated my IOS, and Photos reverts to IPhotos Library which it claims it is updating; that takes forever; and when I try again after that is done, the cycle repeats ...
I'm denied access to my photos
Is there a cure?
Can you give a little more information?
i didn't do a backup, not knowing iPhoto was not compatible
I just noticed iPhoto was shut down, and I don't know how to merge it to photos
