Don't worry, I will help you as hard as i could.

You could try to re-installing the Apps by Holding the Apps until the Apps Shaking > Press the "X" button.

After that, go to the App Store > Search for "Books" or "Apple Books" > Install.

If you worry about the purchased Books, please refer to this Apple Support. Go to Redownload books or audio books sections > Follow the step without worrying to pay second time.

Unfortunately Restarting didn’t work ! However I couldn’t re download the App from App Store as there was purchase history , not purchased option. The problem seems to be with the Books App on IPadOS and not with individual downloaded book . I am at a loss :). All this started with the IOS 13 update . I have recently synced my iPad with Mac, I wonder the problem has started from there , not sure ! ?

I have this problem too. The bigger problems for me are blank pages in the purchased books and my progress not saving when I reopen a book the next day etc. I found a work around online saying to go to any menu page any tap any of the bottom icons (like the library icon) ten times in quick succession. This resolves the issue but usually for a few minutes. Then the blank pages are back. I really don’t want to reinstall if I don’t have to. I que got a ton of docs and books in there. Ideas?

ugh I just read the rest of the thread. I guess I’ll back up my docs and give it a shot.
