Catalina update failure: An unexpected error occurred while moving files to the final destination

Hi community. When trying to update to Catalina on my macbook pro, I get the above error. I cannot find any other posts of this error in relation to Catalina updates. The computer has 512 GB hard drive and ca 100 GB free space. Any ideas on how to circumvent this problem?

An error occurred loading the update / error upgrading to macOS Big Sur I'm trying to upgrade from macOS Catalina to the new macOS Big Sur, the new update installation of (12.2 GB) had been downloaded and I have about (43 GB) of free space storage. but the installation had been stopped suddenly with an error (An error occurred loading the update). I tried to restart the computer and started the installation again several time with the same error. Can someone help?

I share this issue and haven't been able to find a solution. Safe boot doesn't help.
