HomePod unsure of its location
My HomePod doesn’t know where it is, so it cannot answer if I ask it the current temperature or weather forecast, unless I also include the name of our town. How can I tell the HomePod once and for all where we live?

One more thing you can try is to verify the native weather app on your iOS device (the device used for set up) has location services turned on. Test if Siri is able to provide the weather on your device.
Tried off the location service then on in Home app, still failed to ask its location and temperature information. I'm not sure it's a bug if the iPhone OS is upgrade to iOS13, but the HomePod OS is still remaining in OS12.4?
I toggled Location Services for HomePod OFF/ON, and that seems to resolved the issue. Perhaps its setting file had become corrupted, and this forced it to be overwritten with good data.
That was going to be my next suggestion! I was just typing that out as I saw your reply. The email sent a less recent reply.
Glad it’s working now.
Siri on my iPhone is fine to answer me the the weather, but no luck on HomePod..
Enable Location Services on the homepod and on the iOS device you used to set it up with
Location Services are already selected ON, on the iPhone and in the Home App. The legend below that setting in the Home app says "Location Services uses Bluetooth and crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspot locations to determine your approximate location". We're in a rural area, with no other WiFi close by, so that won't work here. There must be a way to explicitly inform HomePod of where it lives.
Did you try the solved answer Kevin gave? Toggle location services on and off in the Home App
