Touchpad Issue - MacBook Air

My MacBook Air often causes problems while using, it automatically takes control and causes issues while using. sometimes it closes the windows, or automatically zooms the page etc, not sure if there is any solution to overcome this situation. Does downloading the trackpad firmware update resolves this issue? However I couldn't find that software in my Mac, instead i could see the trackpad options within my Mac. Please suggest what is the solution and recommended steps to overcome this issue.

Regards

Good afternoon Pradyp,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!

I understand you are having issues with the trackpad on your MacBook Air. Can you provide some additional examples of what you mean by "automatically takes control" and "causes issues while using?" How long has this been going on? What apps are you in when you see windows closing or zooming in on the page?

The firmware for the trackpad is included whenever you update the macOS software. What version are you currently running?

You may need to have an Apple Genius or an Apple Authorized Service Provider take a look at your MacBook Air if these issues persist. Click on the "Service and Support" section of the resource below to find one near you.
