How do I set Apple Maps as my default map app on my iPhone? iOS 13
I DO NOT want google maps as my default.
I’m using iOS 13 on a new iPhone 11 Pro Max.
I did a search for a local business using duckduckgo. When I reached the site I clicked on “Directions”, it pulled them up on Google Maps. I don’t have the Google Maps app on my phone.
Due to the lack of information regarding the issue of Apple Maps being the default map app, the conclusion is that Google will be the default map when a link for directions is clicked…sigh.
However, Apple Maps can be used as the default map app, when one opens the Apple Maps to search for an address one has. (Shaking my head.)
Hi Chris, sorry this does not answer the OP question and I also have the same problem in iOS 13. I don't have Google Maps on my phone and have set the default search to other services than Google yet when I search for a business in Safari the defat map is a Google Map web display. If I click on the Navigate button it gives me an option to install Google Map App or navigate via Google web service. The last thing I would Do, LOL!
I want to set my default App to either Sygic, or at least Apple Maps, not the Google.
Any other suggestions Chris, anyone?
Regards
Hello hbtacoma,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you have a question about using Maps. I'd be happy to provide information that may help.
You have the option to choose which maps app you interact with on your iPhone by opening that app. If you would not like to use Google Maps, you can delete that app from your iPhone: How to delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
If a third-party app is redirecting to Google Maps, you may want to contact the app developer for further information: How to contact an app developer.
Take care.
