Is it safe to delete /opt/x11/ folder?

Like all of you, I also found the "Relocated Items" folder created when I did the Catalina upgrade and like most of you, I have also been unable to delete the doggone thing.

The problem seems to be that there is a symlink or alias that leads to the /opt/x11/ (hidden) folder. As a result, attempting to empty the trash generates the "cannot be completed because [enter reason here]" error message. Several of them, in fact, following the entire folder hierarchy up.

It seems to be related to my xquartz install, which they've not updated in some 3+ years, so I'm thinking that if this was installed by xquartz, there should be no harm in removing it. On the other hand, if it's in a hidden folder, there must be a reason why it's hidden and I don't want to risk hosing my system without knowing that reason. Especially since the first error is that "X11 is required by MacOS X".

Any guidance y'all can offer would be appreciated.
