Why do I have “Add Cellular Plan” to my devise? And to add a QR code. It shows me nothing. No plans. No codes. However, my boyfriend says he has a QR code now but he’s with Verizon Wireless. I’m with AT&T.

Hello Purf3kt,

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities! I understand that you're wanting to know why you're seeing an "Add Cellular Plan" and "QR code" option on your iPhone. I would be happy to help provide more information.

When you use a wireless carrier that supports eSIM on an iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later, it is normal to see this option under Settings > Cellular. This is due to those models of iPhone having the option to add a cellular plan using eSIM:

Both AT&T and Verizon support eSIM in the United States, which is why you both may see the "Add Cellular Plan" option on your devices:

Cheers!
