Line Spacing in Mac Mail 10.3

I am sure that in the past, I have been able to change the line spacing in Mac Mail. However, I can not find a way to do it now. Normally, I haven't been too concerned until I noticed that the lines in my mail compositions are SO TIGHT! Why can't I increase the spacing? Also, I have composed the message in Mac Pages with the proper formatting, then pasted in Mail and it does not retain the formatting. I've attempted to use TextEdit as well. I've then tried "copying the style" and "pasting style" which also does not work.

I have a 2010 iMac and it is still very responsive, even using the latest Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I do movies and music comp as well. However, OS updates are no longer available. I am running MacOS Sierra 10.12.6 if that is relevant.

Thank you so much!!

The Mail compose window does not offer line spacing, nor does it respond to paste style from a Pages document that has line spacing set to exactly 19pt for a 13pt Baskerville font. It just pastes as default text without original font sizing, or any spacing.

What you are seeking is an aesthetic from your vantage point, as the recipients mail client would ignore your settings if you could apply them.

Hi danieldesigner4041,

Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. I understand that you're having some trouble using the formatting tools available in Mail on your Mac and formatting isn't being retained when you copy and paste from a different app. I can see why you'd reach out about this; I'd like to help. First, take a look at the following resource for the tools available to use for formatting in Mail: Format text in messages

Next, when you're copying and pasting from Pages, does the same behavior occur if you do a standard copy and paste? I ask because when you select to "Paste and Match Style" the paste will match the style of the app you're pasting to, not from.

If you continue to have trouble, try doing a copy and paste from Pages in safe mode to see if the behavior persists: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

If you're able to copy and paste as expected in Mail, restart your Mac normally and test again.

Let me know what you find.

Best Regards.
