My iPod touch won’t turn on. Black screen despite charging complete. Reset did not restore display. Help....?

My iPod touch 7 th gen went dark. I didn’t turn power off. It is on the charger. Tried reset with home button and top button. Display off. Help?

Thank you for posting in the Apple Support Communities. I understand that your iPod touch won’t power on, and I’d like to help. 


First, I recommend force restarting it by holding the Sleep/Wake button and the volume down button at the same time, then release both buttons when the Apple logo appears. The iPod touch User Guide explains this in more detail:

If the issue persists, try connecting it to another Apple-branded cable, power source or outlet. From there, complete each step in the section, “If your device turns on but gets stuck during start up” here:
