open office

I'm running Catalina 10-15 OS on a Mac Mini and just installed Open Office 4.1.7 for Mac. When I try to open Open Office, I get a message that says "OpenOffice cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified", there is something about sourceforge.net and my options are 'move to bin' or cancel.

Does anyone know how to bypass this please?

Launch Open Office and wait for the alert, then open System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> General -> At the bottom of the window should be listed Open Office and a button with Open Anyway.

I would suggest using LibreOffice instead as it tends to get more updates & features than Open Office. LibreOffice was forked from Open Office many years ago. While Open Office is still being developed, it doesn't have the full support of the community any more.
