RESTORE ORIGINAL LAUNCHPAD

The launchpad screen is no longer accessible. When clicking launch pad icon on the dock, a screen named Productivity shows up with only 2 icons, neither of which were on my original launchpad. How do I get my original launchpad back? I'm using OS Sierra Version 10.12.6

While not sure what could go more wrong, you could try to see if these instructions may work:

• How to Reset Launchpad Layout in Mac OS Sierra, OS X El Capitan & Yosemite - osxdaily

osxdaily.com/2015/05/05/reset-launchpad-layout-mac-os-x/

from (and read it there too) article:

  1. Open the Terminal application and enter the following defaults write command string:
  2. defaults write com.apple.dock ResetLaunchPad -bool true; killall Dock
  3. Hit return and wait for the Dock to relaunch and Launchpad to reset

"When you open Launchpad again, the layout will have returned to the

default, placing all bundled apps onto the first screen of Launchpad,

& third party apps onto the secondary (and third, if applicable) screens.

You can now rearrange the icons and layout of Launchpad as you see

fit, or just keep the default layout of Apple apps on the first screen,

with third party apps and additions on the later screens."

..Cannot say that I've done this; however that's an untested idea..

Hellooooo Alaska!

And thanks for the prompt response😊

I tried these steps earlier today but didn't complete the process, not wanting to get in over my head. Too much of this stuff is written for users familiar with systems and particularly with jargon. My computer savvy rates 2/10 on a good day.

A few minutes ago and quite by accident, I clicked on the blue screen in behind the 'Productivity' page's banner and Voila!.......... THE DEFAULT LAUNCHPAD PAGE!!!!!!!

Problem solved!
