New contacts won't save on iPhone

Hello,

Since iOS 11 I've been having an issue with my contacts app: I type in a new number, I save it as usual, but if I look for it in the contacts section of my phone I can't find it. If I type in the number in the dialer the phone recognizes whose number is that. If I try to send a message to that contact and I type it's name there, the messages app brings up that contact as it was saved as normal. What should I do to make my newly saved numbers to show in my constacts app? (Currently running iOS 13.1.2)

Thanks

Sounds like you are saving contacts in more than one location. Open Contacts, go to the upper left corner and see if it shows All Groups. You can also check Settings>Passwords & Accounts. Check the list of mail accounts and see if any show Contacts listed under the account name. Then you may have to go to Settings>Contacts and see what is listed for Default account.
