Why did my AirPods disappear from Find My Iphone

To attempt to find lost or stolen AIrPods, the following must be true:

• Find My iPhone or Find My must have been enabled BEFORE they were lost or stolen.
• The AirPods are within range of your devices (iOS or macOS).
• They are not in their charging case.
• They are still charged.

If any of the above are not true, then the only way to find them is to go look for them.
