When i want to download an app from appstore and it says it is appstore purchases, does it mean it is not for free?

Everything in the "store" goes through the purchasing process, even the free stuff. One reason is the simplicity of not having a separate process for free and paid items. But the bigger reason is to make sure that you personally approve of each download and that nobody picks up your device and installs something you don't want.


At the top of each item in the store is a blue oval. That oval will either have the purchase price, or the word "Get". Have no worry -- you will not be charged for anything marked "Get".


By the way, even Apple IDs that have no payment method are able to "purchase" free items via this process.
