Music app equalizer reverts to original settings

After upgrading to Catalina the new music app doesn't remember my manual equalizer settings, if I play a song and set the equalizer to my preferred manual setting and then choose a new song it goes back to original settings. Even if I play the previous song again it still reverts.

It's highly frustrating having to go into the equalizer for each song and set preferred settings for each song played and even for the same song over and over again.

It happens when I play through Mac speakers, bluetooth headset, airplay through Apple TV, regular jack plugs etc. It's the same no matter what I do.

I see several people have posted about this and a couple of posts have been marked as solved, yet when reading they aren't solved! I've checked all updates and everything here is up to speed...

Anyone have a take on this or do we have to wait for a bug fix?
