How do I make a New Reminder as New Reminder is greyed out in Reminders?

Click the + button or just start typing in the space after the last reminder in the list.

It seems that the New Reminder command isn't activated on start. After entering info as described above, New Reminder is functional. Weird bug.

They are two separate things, albeit they do the same thing.

I use it to remind me of things that I need to do.

Much simpler than using Calendar.
