Going back to previous iOS

Is there any way to go back to the previous iOS version before this major update? I absolute hate the new iOS! My practically brand new XR doesn’t work properly anymore in multiple ways.

No, Apple does not support iOS downgrading.

You should post here the issues you are having so we can try working on solutions for those.

You can if you have an iTunes backup with the previous version.

A backup does not contain the iOS system, only certain data files.
