Apple Watch Calendar not Syncing to Watch Face

Hi,

I have an apple watch and i'm using the modular face, and I keep my calendar in the middle of the modual. Normally I can see my calendar events displayed because I use Google Calendar, but I have my Apple Calendar synced to it. You will see I have it setup in the Watch app to display my Calendar, you'll see in my screenshot that my Calendar app has lots of events listed in it correctly, and then you'll see in my screenshot that my watch face shows I have zero calendar events today. I have checked and my watch has the latest software, and so does my phone, so I'm confused what is causing this!

Thanks for your help.

Resolved.

Had all same problems discussed in this thread and tried all the same steps, but only resolved it after going full Rambo on the problem by unpairing and re-pairing. 100% fixed and fairly painless. In 30 minutes I was able to restore from a backup and then only needed to re-add cards to ApplePay:

In Watch app tap into your watch eg Robert’s Apple Watch pic1

Tap the info button for the Watch pic2

Unpair Apple Watch

(from here I go from memory cause I’m not going thru it again)

it takes time to unpair and then the Watch app prompts you to pair a watch using iPhone camera or manually, then restore from backup. For me it was seamless.

Good luck

Im having the exact same problem. Tried all of the proposed remedies, to no avail. Glancing down to quickly see when i need to be at my next meeting/call was the reason i got this thing. Please fix asap.

Hi, I am about to follow the steps you’ve outlined. I’m uncertain about where to find each account to turn off. I have 2 gmail accounts which I can get to by going to ‘accounts and passwords’ but when I go to turn off calendars for each account the only option I have is to delete all gmail calendars from my phone. Is this what I am supposed to do? I can turn off iCloud calendar without having to delete it.

Thanks

I finally seem to have resolved the issue on my watch. My main calendar is my work calendar, which is a Windows Office 365 based system. I went into that account and turned off the Calendar, then turned it back on (I had already tried this for my iCloud calendar). All of my work related events disappeared from my iPhone, which was a little disconcerting, and it took a couple of hours for them to reappear on my phone. Initially they did not appear on my watch, but the next morning they were all there, and so far (several days later) they are still there and appear to be syncing. I’ll add follow up in a week or so.

I tried that too, and still no luck. My issue is slightly different. The Apple Calendar app can see all my events from my iCloud calendars on my phone and watch, but any third party calendar apps (tried 3 of them), cannot see the iCloud calendar events on the watch. Only on the phone. On the watch, they can only see calendars loaded directly on the phone (like Apple Holiday calendar). I confirmed this when I turned off calendars in ICloud settings. When it ask me if I want to keep a copy on the phone or remove the data, if I say keep, it creates a local copy of the events on the phone, and then they appear. As soon as I turn Calendars back on in iCloud settings, and I select Merge the combine the data on the phone with either data in iCloud, everything on the phone is wiped and all events are in iCloud, and then the watch stops seeing the events.

Super frustrating!! My last attempt will be to unpair the watch and set up as new (instead of from a backup).

If that doesn’t work, I’m stumped as to what else to do. I’m thinking this has something to do with Apple’s new directive around how apps should be independent from the phone and run natively instead of just a ported version from the phone, and how it should get data, but I can’t prove it...

well folks, I never had this problem with my iWatch series3 until the battery died. So my wife got me a new iWatch series5 2 months ago, and I started to have issues with my calendar on my watch. My iphone calendar was not mirrored to my watch, even though all the setup buttons were set properly on my watch app on the iphone.

Tried everything possible for 2 days ... unpair-pair ... reboot .. factory reset ... clear icloud calendar sync and then sync again ... etc etc .... I am an electrical Engineer so I am used to trouble shoot and debug electronic devices ... but this one was really not working at all. I read all the possible forums on line and none of the proposed solutions worked. I finally try to get hold of apple support ... got online with one first person .... totally USELESS, that person was completely clueless ... seemed it was her first day at Apple ... then got a second person .... that one tried everything he had been trained to do, following the checklist ... but quickly realized that he was going nowhere ... when I said that I was going to return the watch because apple cannot even figure it out ... he sent me to his supervisor .. and I finally talked to someone who knew way much more than the other 2. but but but ... we spent almost 3 hours on the phone, he made me try everything ... which I had already done for 2 days ... no success ... he made me take screenshoots of my iphone and my iwatch ... sent them to him so he could pass them on to his engineering support team to debug the issue. That guy was very serious and accountable. he contacted me back 3 days later saying that his team was still working on the problem. Luckily, before he came back to me with an answer, my calendar started to sync and so far it has been syncing properly for about 2 weeks. I do not believe in magic and luck ... so Bottom line is that I think Apple did something with my icloud sync issues. They never told me but this is the only explanation. it is not a watch problem, it is not a watch app problem. it is an icloud calendar problem. I wished that Apple would fix that indefinitely because I saw so many people having this problem starting in 2015 and 5 years later they still deal with the same issue. Good luck everyone. And Apple need to do a better job for their expensive products ..

I had an Apple Watch 3 before until feb-March or so when the watch would not charge anymore and was completely dead. Never had a calendar sync problem with that iwatch3. Apple was asking for $250 to fix It when a new iwatch 3 cost $275 at the time. Ridiculous, right ? So I bought the iWatch 5 in May and this calendar sync problem started in June. Cannot tell if the watch model was the problem of new iOS version. I suspected a SW problem with iCloud , each time they try to fix some problems they break something else.

back to today situation ... my calendar synced 2 or 3 days ago after I wrote my last post, by turning off calendar in iCloud phone settings. Then reboot phone, then reboot watch. Then turn on calendar iCloud sync again. Reboot phone and reboot watch. 1 day later, Calendar back on watch.... until yesterday ... this morning, no more calendar On watch ... will try same operation again and pray .... thank you Apple for keeping your customers so frustrated ...
