Apple Watch paired with old phone

I recently upgraded my phone, my Apple Watch was paired with the old phone. So I still receive texts on my Apple Watch but I cannot do anything else because my new phone isn’t paired with it. When I go on the app it says to connect an Apple Watch but I cant because mine is connected to my old phone that I do no have anymore. How do I fix this?

Use the steps below to unpair:

Erase your Apple Watch.
Set up your new iPhone and sign in to iCloud. ...
Open the Apple Watch app on your new iPhone, then pair your watch with your new iPhone.
Try to restore from a backup. ...
Follow the onscreen steps to finish setting up.
Start using your Apple Watch with your new iPhone.
