Why is my iPhone 8 having trouble dialing out?

Why is my iPhone 8 having trouble dialing out? The past two day’s, when I try to make a call, nothing happens. It looks like it’s doing something, but it isn’t. Software is up to date and I have the Silence Unknown Callers on.
