iPad Pro stuck on initial setup

I started setting up my new iPad Pro (3rd Gen) last night. I purchased it brand new from BestBuy. When I went to bed it was on the screen where it says setting up Apple ID with the spinning wheel showing that it is still loading. When I woke up this morning to head out to work, it is still on the same screen. I tried to reset it using the method of holding down and releasing the volume buttons and then holding down the lock button, but nothing. Is it normal for it to take this long? I left it at home plugged in to the wall to see if that does anything but when I left for work it was still loading. Is there another workaround to reset it and start the process over? This initial experience has not exactly made me too confident in the reliability of this product.
