Sending Audio message from Iphone to non Iphone

When you send a voice messages using an Iphone there is a small microphone where you type the messages if you are sending a mesage to someone else with an Iphone. You cant do that when sending a audio message to a non Iphone. You can only get the arrow for a text message.

How do you send a audio message from an iphone to a non iphone, Android, Google phone etc.
