iPad Pro crashing with external monitor

Like the title says, every time I try to use an external monitor with my iPad Pro 2018 13 inch, it crashes. My iPad restarts, only for it to try to use the monitor again, and crashes again.

I'm using the Dell Ultrasharp U2718Q, which is a 4k monitor. I have confirmed that both the monitor, and my USB-C to DisplayPort cable are working using other devices.

Other people seem to be able to connect to an external monitor with no problem. I'd like to know if there's something I can do.
