internet tethering

Since updating to 13.1.3 on my iPhone 8 when I connect my iMac using the phone as a modem the connection keeps dropping out. Is it because of the update or possibly the length of idle time? It never did this on the previous version.

I understand you're not able to maintain a connection between your iPhone 8 and your iMac. I'd be happy to provide information to help you address this.


Make sure you have the latest updates installed both for your device and your carrier:

Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad


If the issue continues try changing your iPhone name in Settings > General > About > Name.

Test to see if the issue continues. If it does, attempt to Reset Network Settings.


If the issue continues, reach out to Apple Support for further assistance.
