Since updating to 13.1.3 on my iPhone 8 when I connect my iMac using the phone as a modem the connection keeps dropping out. Is it because of the update or possibly the length of idle time? It never did this on the previous version.

Make sure you have the latest updates installed both for your device and your carrier:
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Update your carrier settings on your iPhone or iPad
If the issue continues try changing your iPhone name in Settings > General > About > Name.
Test to see if the issue continues. If it does, attempt to Reset Network Settings.

What iMac do you have and what operating system is installed?
If you are using macOS Catalina ...... are you on Version 10.15 or the updated version 10.15.1 ?
The updated Catalina fixed MANY problems! 😉

I'm a keen narrowboater and use my iPhone as a hotspot whenever I'm on board. I find that it's fairly reliable - unlike the 3G or 4G 'phone signal which is unavailable in many places. 🙄

Hi HunterBD, mine's an oldy but a goody and only has 10.11.6 El Capitan.
Hi Babowa, I think it may be timing out which it never used to do but I suppose it stops the phone battery from going flat.
