Purchasing music through iTunes via Apple Music

So, my understanding is that if I am subscribed to Apple Music and my subscription isn't renewed, all content is no longer playable, even the songs downloaded for 'offline mode' - does this apply to purchases made through the iTunes store that is in Apple Music?
