Just curious, download size Catalina?

What is the difference in the discrepancy— it goes with the complex territory o computers and Upgrade being specific to your machine. What difference does it make..the screen is in error— you can always send Apple Feedback http://www.apple.com/feedback and ask for some explanation.

The original download was 8.09GB, then the re-release was 8.12GB— all this may still vary depend on your exact machine.

Ignore 4.9GB

More importantly—

* If upgrading from OS X El Capitan 10.11.5 or later, macOS Catalina

requires 12.5GB of available storage to upgrade. If upgrading from an

earlier release, macOS Catalina requires up to 18.5GB of available

storage.

4.90 GB But be sure you have at least 3X that space or hopefully a lot more on your hard to allow for proper operation.

It is actually 8.1GBs,
