Limiting video quality to SD

If you set the app to "limit purchases and rentals to SD" does that also limit streaming from "channels" such as CBS All Access?

I'm on metered internet and HD video uses too much data. I see the option in settings, but I'm worried it might only pertain to purchases or rentals direct from Apple.

Streaming Video quality Apple TV+ Sorry if this is the wrong forum but I was unable to find an Apple TV Plus listing. My question if fairly straight forward. Can you set Apple TV Plus to send content in standard definition? I have some limits on my Internet data monthly. My wife and I watched two episodes of The Morning Show and got an email alert that I was near my data cap as the two shows consumed 2.3 Gigabytes of data. Not everybody can use High Def and prefer a lower resolution. I know you can set resolution on iTunes, but there doesn't seem to be any option with Apple TV+. If I cannot get Lower Def content then I won't be able to use my free 1-year Apple TV+ account. Thanks
