Smart connector keyboard not recognized after ipad goes to sleep

I have an iPad Air, latest model. I also have a Logitech keyboard with smart connector. For some reason, after the latest update, every time the iPad goes to sleep, after a few minutes of not using it; the iPad stops recognizing the keyboard. I have to disconnect the smart connector and connect it again for the keyboard to be recognized.

I have used the keyboard with an iPad pro and it works as it should. I have restarted the iPad several times and the problem seems to resolve itself for a few hours but then goes back to the same issue.

Don’t know if this is a hardware or software issue??

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks
