Files and folders not showing up on Finder

Since the upgrade to Catalina, the folders and files that we create at work are not showing up in Finder.

I know they are being created, because if we go to the parent folder on Terminal and look for them there they are listed, but we can't see them on Finder unless we force restart it.

The same problem applies to our two Mac Pro and one iMac Pro.

How can we make Finder show all files and folders again?

Hey there lostinvenice,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re not seeing the files you created in Finder on macOS Catalina. I’ll be happy to help.

To verify, do they show up in a Spotlight search? This link can guide you on how this should work:

Use Spotlight on your Mac

Do you use Time Machine with your Mac computers? If so, do the files show up there?

If that doesn’t help, see if this occurs in safe boot or a new user account to isolate and possibly resolve this issue:

Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac

How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Let me know if these have any impact on this.
