Can you comp MIDI takes in Logic 9? Trying to create drum track from BFD2.

I have my song fully arranged to a simple drum loop.

Now I want to make the drums more believable by recording BFD2 via MIDI. This is proving to be a challenge, as I don't intuitively remember how each groove sounds. I'm catching some parts with the correct groove, but sometimes I'm way off. I'm doing many takes and trying to comp together one good performance. I'd like to be able to comp using quickswipe like I would for audio. Is this possible in Logic 9?

I'm afraid the answer is No.

You're describing exactly what I'd like to do in Logic, and I agree: for my purposes, quick-swipe MIDI would be my #1 choice for new feature to add. But it's not there at the moment.

While in many ways Logic is peerless for MIDI power, I find cutting and muting multiple MIDI takes to audition and assemble a drum comp to be a very tedious process...

Please file a feature request with Apple, though... the more feedback they hear, the more likely they'll take the time to implement this (and really, it's hard for me to imagine that this feature would be particularly difficult to code, certainly compared to all the much more complex things that have been added to Logic in the past year)...

But you can "bounce region in place" for each midi take, creating an audio file. Control click on the audio files and choose "Pack Take Folder" packing those audio files into a "take folder" and comp from there. It's the only way I know as a work around at the moment.
