Need help pairing PS4 (dual shock 4) to Iphone 6s plus

My iphone is finding the Ps4 controller in bluetooth and is pairing with it. However will only stay paired for a max of 3 seconds. I have reset the controller and updated my phone to ios 13.2, reset my network setting and turned my phone on and off with the same exact results. Will only pair for a max of three seconds. Please help I really want my controller to pair, thank you!
