Was my iPad Pro hacked by my "new" used Mac Mini?

I got a "new" Mac mini off of eBay from a trusted reseller. While setting it up, I received authentication codes during the set up of the MM via my iPad Pro. A couple of hours later, I tried to use my iPad and it didn't recognize it's own passcode (one that's been used for a year). WTH?
