Request Error -1001

I have a screenshot I can send if needed, maybe whatever is causing me to constantly be disconnected is this error that came up today when it happened. It said Request Error -1001 in white writing in the message box that comes up saying I’m disconnected.

Just thought I would look around some more. Since I understand some of the things from computer classes I have taken in the past. One of them was actually an online computer class at the college near where I live.

In the settings on the device it seems to store things or stores logs on the different functions happening. We have had to send the reports in the past for different virus, spyware software apps we have used to the techs to go through & tell us things to remove. Even some of them have made a mistake or misread something said.

Anyways, it seems to list for different apps & some of the information in them on this iPad seem to have for the model is an iPad I used years ago. It also seems to have an iPhone listed in the stuff. The only thing I can think of is my Mom has an iPhone that she uses too & other members of the family since it all uses our Apple Id & the internet.

It says iPad model is iPad 7,5. Which we don’t use that one anymore. Same as some of the apps that keep showing up being purchased using the models we don’t use anymore & some of the apps the company isn’t there anymore or they don’t sell it anymore, so they don’t offer support anymore for those products. They seem to try to come through when trying to update things & even has stalled out when trying to download things again from iCloud, it gets stuck on the apps that no longer exist.

It also says something about a crash was caused by a certain thread.

For one of the apps being used on this device it says this,

"Thread 11 crashed with ARM Thread State (64-bit):"

Whenever we are disconnected from the internet, anything that uses the internet doesn’t work.

The other day & several other times when we get disconnected it takes us to a page that lists the router/modem we

have along with a phone number to call if the problem keeps happening. Not sure what to think because after

talking with who I think was someone from AT&T in a chat, that may have been a trick. My sister has had to

called them when this happens since she can’t get online either when it happens & her job is involves

having to use the internet.

Is it possible something is being entered in wrong for some reason or another setting is being disabled?

I know of at least one of my Email accounts that is messed up due to a tech who works at a place they use

accidentally entered a character in wrong. So, I keep receiving all of their stuff from that company. I have tried to

write to the company, but it seems it’s an automated email so there doesn’t seem to be a way to get them to help.

Since I have several handicaps, there are several things & settings I use & need enabled.

Whenever I have problems seeing what certain characters are, whenever needed I use copy & paste & if

that doesn’t work I hit the speak button. I also run into problems with certain parts of the screen being way to

large or small causing characters to be cut off the screen. Rows & columns being cut off.

It seems like lots of id's seem to sometimes include Emojis or even characters that look like an

accent character or even apostrophes.

We went through all of the steps given on

How to Fix iPad Wi-Fi Connectivity Problems

Still keep having this happen constantly. It wasn’t happening on my previous iPad or prior to some of the recent iOS updates.

We talked to someone at Apple about a problem with something needing to be enabled in Privacy/Security Settings for something else to work right. Being able to save things to pictures app. Which we were running into problems & still are with the app nowhere to be found in the list. We sent screenshots of it & they could see it wasn’t in the list. Apple even did remote access but never got back to us on what they found out.

The only way to sometimes temporarily help the problem is turning off the modem/router but sometimes that doesn’t seem to work. Sometimes we have to keep hitting the Try Again button millions of times.

Instructions on Use a captive Wi-Fi network on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Those seem to be most of the same instructions given in the

How to Fix iPad Wi-Fi Connectivity Problems

Some of the things they ask for when we follow the instructions on things to enter in, a mobile phone number, I don’t have one & can’t get through the process due to that step not being done.

Right now as I’m being disconnected again, when I look in Settings & then the Wi-Fi tab or button, it shows things under

Choose A Network

Other devices that use the internet are listed there.

I don’t want to put those devices due to personal things in the list. Others use some of those devices which I don’t use so, is why I have no clue how they work. I don’t have an iPhone, Cellphone, etc. We may just need to go into a chat with someone from Apple so they can see those devices in the list.

This is why the other day when it was happening I tried to chat with our internet provider & was thinking maybe it would help if I’m logged in talking with them while the problem is happening. Maybe it would show up someplace as to what is causing the problem. A wrong password or some other character somewhere being entered in wrong? They were asking for information & things about accounts for devices I don’t use. Such as a cellphone number.

I also have a slight different message in the thing that says it requires an internet connection. The Request Error is not part of the message anymore.

Here is a screenshot so you can see what I mean about the error no longer there.
