Is anyone else having problems with mail in Catalina being really slow and sluggish? I am using it on a 6core 2013 Mac Pro with 32GB ram. IT is showing about 80% CPU utilization across all 6 cores. I am constantly closing and relaunching.

Just an update on this. It seemed to only happen with Exchange mail. I deleted the accounts from my Mac and then readied them. Once I opened mail. I let it it and do it's think for a couple of hours and them everything has been working properly.

Very frustrating. My brand new iMac which previously started up super fast now just gives me a color wheel spinning for way too long. All of my apps are slow especially larger CPU apps like ScreenFlow etc. Apple, please get this fixed.
Same here....." downloading 3 messages or Moving 3 messages " after binning them and receiving new mail. I have to mostly then Force Quit Mail if I am shutting down. I'm running Catalina on a Mac mini i3 bought earlier this year. Actually went back to High Sierra after first downloading Catalina and have only just downloaded it again a week ago or so and now the upgrade a few days ago. Thought it was my ADSL+2 so tried my 4G Dongle to no avail.
Will be ringing Apple when I have a few spare hours.
Try opening the news app! It’s even worse!
