Can't make HomePod recognize my wife's voice.

I updated my HomePod's IOS today to iOS 13.2.1. It took a couple of hours before my HomePod's Siri understood requests for ambient sounds, but it does now.

I opened "Home" on my iPhone (there's a red "1" on the icon that I don't see what it points to) and clicked on the little house on the top-left corner. A pop-p menu shows "My Home" (checked), "My Home" (unchecked), "Home Settings", and "Cancel". If I click on "Home Settings", I get "My Home", "My Home (Guest), and see the "Home Switching on". I clicked the ">" next to "My Home".

I see two photos here, one of myself, and one of my wife. If I select me I see "Recognize my Voice", "Personal Requests", "Update Listening History", and a couple of "Allow Access To" settings all turned on.

If I select my wife's picture, I see "Add and Edit Accessories" and "Recognize My Voice" off. I can change the first of these to on, but I can't change "Recognize My Voice" on.

After discovering this, I held my wife's iPhone next to the HomePod, and have invited and accepted me with her "Home" application. (Always using the same network)

If instead of selecting "My Home", I select "My Home Guest", there are no personal options, but "This user can control accessories while at this location".

What do I need to do next?

I went to the Home app on my iPhone, clicked the little house on the top-left, saw "My Home" has two options, but selected "Home Settings", selected "My Home", selected my wife, removed person.

"Could not modify user access".

But I went in again and she was gone, so I invited her.

She accepted, and could start music playing on the HomePod with her phone and "Home" app.

But when she asked HomePod's Siri "Who am I", the it didn't know.

I have tried deleting her and inviting her back.   I have gone to her phone and invited me.   Now my HomePod recognizes both of her voices, but thinks we are both named “Pat” (my wife’s name).

In my Home app on my phone, I selected the little house at the top left, and see "My Home" checked, "My Home" unchecked, and "Home Settings".   I select Home Settings and see "My Home", "My Home (Guest)", and "Home Switching" (turned on).   I select "My Home".

Under "People", I see two people with my wife's photo and name.   If I select the left most one, I see her full name, but my mac ID.  Everything is turned on including "Recognize My Voice".

If I select the right-most photo of my wife, it has my wife's mac ID, and I cannot switch the switch "Recognize My Voice" to "on".

I have tried deleting her and inviting her back.   I have gone to her phone and invited me.  On her phone, my photo and name are on the left, and her photo and name are on the right.

I am using IOS 13.3.1 on my HomePod.
