After loading Catalina Time Machine fails to backup, says two disks labeled Macintosh HD. Disk Utility shows: Macintosh HD and Macintosh HD - Data. Using a Western Digital drive to backup. How do I fix this problem?

Old Toad -- Thanks for the reply. When I need to use the restore function provided by Time Machine the need is for both the operating system and as you point out apps and files. That is what was available in previous versions. The question is what is provided by the restore function of Time Machine with Catalina?
