The iCloud icon disappeared from my tool bar and documents on my desktop (that were stored in iCloud) do not open without going through Pages.

How do I fix this? I have the receipt for my automatic payments.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. I understand that the iCloud icon disappeared from your tool bar and documents on your desktop that were stored in iCloud do not open without first opening Pages. I’m happy to help.


Please restart your Mac. Once your Mac has fully restarted, do you see your documents in iCloud Drive on your desktop as expected? If not, does it show that Desktop and Documents has been turned on? Please see the steps in the section titled “Turn on Desktop and Documents” here: Add your Desktop and Documents files to iCloud Drive - Apple Support
